lol thought so too!!
I got the Bose Companion 2 in December. Very unhappy. Way too much bass and not enough treble. Was able to get barely tolerable using the Equalizer in Media player. Replaced today with Boston Acoustics MM220. Wow, what a difference.
One more thing of topic I have also the Bose Companion 3 Series II now those yes you can crank though you will find they are loud enough and sound great. It could be just me but for your need it looks to me that something like the AV40 is what you really needed. Think Bose like Apple Computer, they don’t have the most powerful CPU or GPU but they run great and have almost never a crash, they also to me look great. Bose is like that, not really cranking speakers. But great sound still.
thnx man, i appreciate all your help
I would say no, not completely sure on these but on many Bose speakers they actually have circuitry that lowers the volume to protect the speakers if you go over recommendation. The Bose are great for listen at a good level and getting a feel of more volume for their size but cranking them is something I don’t advice, it may work but not recommended. The M-Audio AV40 that another story, those you can crank they will push 40 Watts with no problem. Hope this helps
crissxe asked what the watts are. Sorry but I can’t find it on the actual speakers or manual, to tell you I have never seen Bose show specs with watts or Response Bandwidth, does anyone know. Same problem with all their products, if I had to guess I say 20 watts max. To me for games and music lovers if you have the room go with M-Audio AV40 unless you don’t have the room.
thnx for your response, i bought this bc a lot of ppl recomended it to me. i have a sony srs d21 2.1. and it has a mas of 16 or 20 watts cant remember. so i just bought it to practice drums, on my room and i needed loud speakers, u think this bose is good if i blast it? would it loud enough? i appreciate your help
These speakers are actually very good but its important to go read up on Bose, the speakers are flat sounding because that how your suppose to listen to music if possible, at least to Bose philosophy. The whole idea is not to color the music with lots of high vs lows. Wiki has great info on what the company believes in. So if your like 15 and want speakers for your ears these speakers will not do, but all Bose sounds are like this. These are music speakers.
do u know how many watts does this speaker have?
