I already have a home theater system so all I needed was better computer speakers. Ever since I got my Ipod, I’ve been listening to more music. I previously had the Boston Acoustics 2. 1 635 system, which sounded full due to the small sub, but the amp died after 2 years (I think all the wires, connections wore out). I also had a Klipsch 2. 1, Logitech, and Altec Lansing. Unless you’ve had them all, I don’t think anyone would be unhappy with any of these brands. Why would I want just 2 speakers? I was tired of so many wires behind my computer- it’s a headache to clean and move things around. Alright, I’ve spent some time researching speakers and can safely say that there are very few GOOD 2 speaker systems out there. If you find them, they are usually of the low quality, single cone driver variety. I originally was looking to wire up those old Apple Pro speakers somehow, but am tired and too busy these days to tinker with my own builds. Again, there are VERY FEW 2 speaker systems out there for desktops. This is the highest quality and best finished speaker system I found. It is a little pricey, but it looks great, knobs are high quality, and most importantly it sounds fantastic. The metal drivers give you that high end metallic sizzle for hard rock and are surprisingly good for vocals. Norah Jones sounds a little compressed, but there is still warmth there. Green Day vocals come through detailed and the guitars/drums are clear without breaking up. The speakers had more “bass” without breaking up than another set from another maker I bought to compare it with. No, there is no rumble for games with boom, but you can put on headphones for that- no speakers outdo good headphones (your neighbors will hate you anyways). These are very quick responding speakers. Some may find them a little bright, perky, but they are more ‘head’s up’ than harsh. There is a tone adjustment that really works, but I am a pseudo purist- I get annoyed if I leave it off center too long. Titanium tweeters, with rubber gaskets- how can someone complain? The units look high tech and the sound is detailed/high clarity. Get a new monitor and side these next to it and presto you love your computer again.

Stopped working after a year
I bought these about a year and a half ago and it was working fine till recently. I turned them on one day and it started to make some hissing sounds and then eventually started…
Being that I’m going to be moving into the dorm soon, I wanted a small pair of external speakers for my laptop (As I like to listen to music when doing work and such). I have to say, these speakers are excellent. I don’t hear sound from the two speakers, its almost as if there is a cloud around my laptop where the sound comes from. There is no one place. I’ve been busy testing these speakers out with all kinds of music. I put on some Linkin Park and Iron Maiden. The bass isn’t very strong, but I could always buy the subwoofer if I so desired. There is barely any distortion when played at a normal volume (Turn it to max on any speakers and you’ll have distortions). I then put on softer music, finally going down to classical. I like listening to classical sometimes. It sounded terrible on my built in speakers, but it sounds amazing with these speakers. On garbage speakers, notes are sometimes missed or buried. I’ve been listening to classical songs I know well, and I can hear every note clearly. This is an excellent set of little speakers.

Buy it directly from Creative for only $25
[...]. These speakers are very attractive and the work great. The right speakers has all the controls and also a headset plug, very convienent. [...]
My husband and I spent a long time comparing speakers for my computer. I didn’t want anything high maintenance or that would take up too much room, yet I wanted a balanced sound and hate tinny, overly trebled noise–which seems like a tall order for only two tiny speakers without a subwoofer. I think we did really well with these and for the most part, the sound quality is great and the design is pretty innocuous and fairly streamlined. They have a nice slant at the base which helps project the noise up. I don’t know much about speakers per se, but I am very particular about noises and I imagine these are the best computer speakers under 75 dollars. As another reviewer pointed out, you don’t get huge umphs and booms, but they do a great job considering the size limitations. **I just read that there’s something in the audio hobby called WAF. Uh, that would be Wife Acceptance Factor–as in the smaller the speakers, the higher the acceptance. As a wifey, I’d say that the I-Trigue 2200 2. 0 have a high WAF rating, like 9. 5 out of 10.

A little pricey for a pair of weak performance spkrs
I was trying to purchase a pair of small, light weight spkrs purely for travel. The smaller, lighter the better. However, I also demand high quality sound.

Search elsewhere
I’ve used these speakers for a couple years now. Sound quality is decent at low volumes, but they just can’t fill even a small room with music.

I wanted to like them…
These speakers have a great form factor and look great. The sound is alright, about what you’d expect for the price point.

Not bad…
I really needed to replace my old Gateway speakers, and these were the only ones with a sub woofer-out line, which was a huge plus.

OK for the price, but you can get a lot better for not a lot more money
I bought these about 2 years ago. They worked great for about a year. I liked that they had a very basic equalizer on the speaker- something you don’t find on more expensive…

First the tone went, then the right speaker
I use my speakers on rare occasions. I listen to light music, and I never set the volume above the halfway mark. I also keep the setting at about 25-50% on my computer.

creative 2200 speakers
esthetics and sound quality are good for value. Minimal opportunities to expand including subwoofer connection.

just “OK”
They sound fairly good when connected to my laptop. However there is a constant background hum when connected to an Ipod; as if they need to be grounded.
