Functional, though disappointing
These speakers are better than the internal speaker in my computer, by a longshot, but I am disappointed that an AC Adapter did not come with it, runs on AAA batteries, the cord…
Yes, these are small and light. Now the bad news: The separate amplifier and all the wires going everywhere makes the connected assembly look like a science lab project, especially if you opt for the USB power connector. Yes, the sound quality is better than the one inch speakers in my IBM ThinkPad but not nearly as good as your typical $19 desktop computer speakers. The problem is that the sound is limited to highs with little if any midrange. Bass is nonexistent. It’s like listening to a pair of big tweeters. The enthusiastic reviews are a mystery to me.

Mediocre sound but excellent portability
(NOTE: the USB cable for the SI-5 is sold separately. Sonic Impact Technologies Gen2 is basically the same speaker but it comes with a USB cable.

disappointed
after reading the excellent reviews, i was very disappointed with the sound quality from these speakers. if you plan on playing them even slightly loud the distortion is incredible

Great for the Price
For 20$, these are very impressive little speakers. They look a lot chaper than they sound; the cardboard-like grill did not impress me.

What a surprise
Just spent the last month checking the internet for portable speakers to take on vacation. I wanted something as small as possible, good sound and a modest price.

Horrible
These little speakers are loud and cheap, but the cords suck and there is little or no bass on these speakers.

Can’t beat the price and it sounds pretty darn good.
These speakers are well designed, and give a good, but not great sound. Highs are bright and crisp but slightly wobbly, midrange is fine, and bass is present but somewhat weak…

This is shocking
When I first got these speakers, I was extremely apprehensive, as I had read both hateful and raving reviews for this.

Very Good Value, Great for Travel, Good sound
I bought these to use with my ipod, I just couldn’t see spending the $100-150 for the high end Altec Lansing and Creativ speaker units, especially given the fact that reviews seem…
