Product Description |
Bulky stereo systems are fast becoming relics of an earlier century, especially with speakers such as Sony's SRS-P11Q on the market. These passive speakers are designed to connect to a portable audio system, such as a CD Walkman or MP3 player, yet still deliver the same clear, vivid tones as much larger speakers. In the meantime, the 2-1/4-inch speaker bodies fit unobtrusively on a bookshelf, dresser, or desk, and also store compactly in a backpack or suitcase when on the move. The speakers are lightweight and distinctive, with circular shapes and small bulbous feet that keep them from tipping over. Listeners with a flair for accessorizing will appreciate the interchangeable white and silver faceplates, which lets people match the speakers to their players. The speakers' audio derives from the 57 mm damper-less neodymium magnets, which produce a frequency response between 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The passive speakers also require no batteries, making them ideal for traveling or tailgating. The system comes with a stereo mini plug input and features 4 watts of maximum input power (2 watts x 2). What's in the Box 2 speakers, white and silver faceplates, user's manual.

I've bought lots of stuff from Amazon but this is my first time to write a review of something. That's how pleased and excited I am about this purchase! I bought these little speakers so that I (and my co-workers) could listen to my iPod at work. These are going to be perfect! Great design and compact enough for my desk. And I love the low price since it's just something for work. Note: There is no seperate volume control on the speakers. They plug directly into your iPod and you must use iPod's volume control. This means the sound won't go up high so don't buy these if you're looking to play music really loud. It's perfect for me though since I'm using these in a work environment. Another note: No outside power is required for these speakers. You don't have to deal with batteries or outlets. It draws it's power from your device.
Excellent for audio books

This Sony speaker system, which plugs into your audio device, works like a headset that you don't have to wear in or on your ears, and it doesn't rock down the house. Neither does it require batteries, a bonus for your wallet and the environment. Despite my moderate hearing loss, with this set I find the spoken word distinct and the tone excellent. The silver face plates even enhance the unit's appearance. Small price, big quality, great product!
No Batteries Required

Regardless of the price, which is very reasonable, these little speakers put out respectable sound quality. They just used the signal from your headphone. The quality of sound is as good as the headphone output. So if your headphone isn't pushing out distortion, then these little speakers won't either. It is essentially a 2" speaker enclosed in a spherical cabinet with a small sound port in the back to improve bass response. They are better than lap top speakers and they work greate with my HP Ipaq PDA. I bought 2 additional pairs to add to my model railroad.

Depending on what you're looking for, these speakers are great. I was looking for a way to play my ipod at work (my computer doesn't have speakers). They can actually be too loud for a work environment. They don't have alot of mid-range or bass, but they certainly fulfill their purpose. I love that they are light weight, and don't need batteries. They can be put in my suitcase for travel, or used on the beach!!

I had to purchase speakers after I found out my Apple Cinema monitor didn't have any speakers. I wanted something small that would compliment my monitor, these did the trick. I'm in an office setting and these work well.
